Our Eco-Responsible Vision
At L’Atelier du Gantier, we rely on nature and what it provides us. That’s why we’ve chosen to be mindful and limit our environmental impact. Our raw materials are carefully selected.
We provide a flannel pouch to store your gloves
Our gloves are delivered in a reusable flannel pouch that keeps them protected — whether in your handbag or your glove compartment (finally living up to its name!). Of course, you can reuse the flannel pouch however you like. Either way, we avoid plastic!
We ship your orders in recyclable bubble mailers
For shipping, we use recyclable bubble envelopes made with sustainably sourced paper and polyethylene bubble wrap (100% recyclable and CFC-free to protect the ozone layer).
We use renewable energy
To power our workshop and boutique, we’ve chosen a 100% renewable and 100% French electricity provider: Enercoop. We use local, sustainable, low-emission energy generated from water, wind, and sunlight. Because an alternative to polluting energy is now possible, we invite you to learn more about Enercoop and support the energy transition!
Leather Recycling
L’Atelier du Gantier is a member of the French National Leather Council (CNC), which works on waste management and leather recycling. As of now, there’s no perfect solution for recycling leather.
Leather scraps are minimal in glove-making, but we strive not to waste them. That’s why you’ll find a product listing on our website called “leather scraps,” which you can collect in person or have shipped (shipping costs only). Our goal is to avoid landfilling or incineration and support those who enjoy crafting.
We also donate these scraps to local schools and daycare centers.
We create bookmarks using leather offcuts from a nearby leather goods maker (Bleu de Chauffe, just so you know).
